Etro-F/W 09

Irrestisible fall 09 collection by Kean Etro, giving the nowadays wardrobe a hispter-soul-touch as if saville Row’s gentlemen meet countercultural mini-hippies.Kean Etro’s fall collection is more of a homey and warmed bourgeois bohemian executive sophisticately suited. So far, a few designers- Comme des Garcons, Yohji Yamamoto, Dries Van Noten -have been able to keep in this sense of casual comfort when being dressed up.Kean did it : “Homey, warm and refined”.Here’s a selection of Milan most inspirationals looks.

September 29, 2009

CNN is preparing for life After Larry King in case he drops dead at his studio desk ! With a contract which is set to expire in 18 months,CNN  is busy trying to figure out “Who” with the same fame level could replace him.Maybe he’s not the best interviewer, but he’s a legend and constant in life of the viewers.Seacrest is the only one who has almost the same level of fame but he’s from the different spectrum of news and  his massive deal with “American Idol” makes him too expensive.Others contenders are John King, Katie Couric, Joy Behar.

A lesson for Anna [Wintour]

September 29, 2009

It’s perfect time, the newspaper industry is in real trouble – a bunch are up for sale or miring chap 11 (bankruptcy). The medias business’ catastrophe is alone with nothing left but creative minds figuring out how they can reinvent themselves and dump some juicy news contents wherever, whenever we want.

In case you missed the train, we are in the midst of real revolutionary times, a lot of things -Wall street’s financial “Coup d’Etat “, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan- are happening around the world, which itself have been unthinkable one or two years ago.

Unsurprisingly, our favorite media empire- Condénast- has taken note thus has hired Mc Kinsey to figure out imminently a way to reduce the enormous costs-read always flying first for top editors as well as town cars idling even for their assistants, clothing allowances in the high five figures, Franck Gehry’ state of the art cafeteria.

“25 % cut” is nowadays the most talk about word inside the 4 times Square’ Building and everyone is worried about who’ll be the next checking the unemployment’ services

On the other side of the ocean, Vanity Fair’s Italy is doing well, pretty well. In the last NYTimes Sunday Ed, Luca Dina- editor in  chief – explained us few things on how a glossy magazine like Vanity Fair become profitable amid a dying industry.

“The winning idea was to take it weekly” he proudly said, though everyone was a little bit scared when the magazine was first introduced in 2003, “its easier to build a connection with the reader”.

Basically, he’s doing the exact opposite of infamous fashion priest -Anna Wintour-, following a strict rule that ads are never more than 50 percent of the magazine content.

A ruled which itself has paid off very well, the title is the number 1 magazine in terms or revenues and profits. Its bigger than any International Vogue.

Wine & Dine: Classic in Brooklyn

September 28, 2009

Saul

Perfectly executed creative dishes, the chef at Saul is a genius and the flavor combinations inspiring and exciting. The combination of the ingredients in many of the dishes was incredibly delicious..I love this restaurant, the intimacy of the small, exposed-brick dining room. The server was very gracious and friendly.Doesn’t get a lot of buzz, but that’s a good thing. The server was very gracious and friendly.Doesn’t get a lot of buzz, but that’s a good thing. It’s a great place to bring a date.

Bespoke by Alexander Amosu [Trends]

September 28, 2009

This found video of Alexander Amosu Luxury Bespoke Suit Line ‘s presentation in the street of London caught my attention because when its comes to pick up a suit it has always been a fashion mess between a great fabric but poorly executed or a good tailored suit in a less desirable fabric. And I have to admit those ones are looking perfectly executed and the materials are as Anna Wintour will put it :” just gorgeous”.Saville Row- hands down for sure- rules !

“Tyson’s boo”

September 28, 2009

Super model Tyson Beckford appeared on Andy Cohen’s own weekly talk show with guest Kandi from the Real Housewives-I dont even remember from wich city she’s from.On the segment Bravo’s reigning executive narcissist Andy Cohen yelled all over the place like a teenage fan:”Oh My Gawd, Oh My Gawd “ when Tyson unveilled his outrageously fitted body.Apparently, in South Carolina they coulnt get over, a caller interested in Tyson’s booty calls asked who would it be if it was a man, a more “South Carolina” way to ask if he’s into dudes.I dont know why the heck in today ‘society people are completely obessesed with celebrities’ sexuality, it’s like they dont want  their own-built- fantasies to be ruined.
