Are presidents Africa’s new kings ?

November 1, 2010

Some African leaders enjoy absolute power and even some life-time presidents. Most if not all African leaders are selfish and don’t give a hoot about their people or countries. And we the African people are too passive. According to Foreign Policy PAUL BIYA of Cameroon is widely held as the Worst of the Worst !

A suave bandit who has reportedly amassed a personal fortune of more than $200 million and the mansions to go with it, Biya has co-opted the opposition into complete submission. Not that he’s worried about elections; he has rigged the term limit laws twice to make sure the party doesn’t end anytime soon.

Two Queens + One King = Magical Fire !!!

more about “Floetry ft. Common – Supastar“, posted with vodpod

I stumbled yesterday on this music video featuring one of the most talented duo Floetry and one of the most talented rapper Common.Awesome performance, the beginning kind of reminded me of Jigga’s “ Song Cry”.I still can’t believe the duet broke up, their collective energy is so infectious through the computer screen.

Apparently,Nathalie Stewart’s departure is due to extreme personal reasons.I guess they’re dating and the relationship went hell thus make it almost impossible for them to sing together. Meanwhile Marsha Ambrosius showed off her solo skills on a new EP, which includes a duet with soul crooner Glenn Lewis. It’s cool but unfortunately lacks Floetry’s unique flavor we were used to.

Honestly, she should have been stayed with that god damn girl no matter how huge the mess was.She just proved by releasing her album that going solo aint really for her. When you hear the garbage (Beyonce, Ashanti or any other pseudo soul/ Rnb singer)which is being served to us on a daily basis you could only be sad and hoping deep in your heart that one day they’ll be back together because aint nothing touching Floetry !

Apparently Satan was head of music in heaven. He uses influential people…to help influence the world. Once you make a certain amount of money, you might be invited to join.To get in you have to accept the beast, worship. Once you join they assist you with your career and make you huge only if you agree and obey to destroy Gods words and his children. Are people taking it too far?

A SINGLE MAN – a film by Tom Ford

December 16, 2009

Aparently it did well at Cannes and Colin Firth is being tauted as a shoe-in for an Oscar nomination. I read great things about it, but the trailer is ridiculously ambiguous -no dialogue, fast cuts of artsy-looking people looking miserable — so that has me worried that it’s all hype.

Fashion designer Tom Ford talks to two semi-naked male extras on the set of his directorial debut movie, “The Single Man”. The film is based on Christopher Isherwood’s 1964 novel of the same name and is set over a day in the life of a man who suddenly loses his lover in a tragic accident.

It’s not exactly going to cross over into the mainstream. It looks exquisite – as you’d expect – but it’s a bit airless and while not being completely shallow, it lacks depth. You admire the clothes and interiors, etc., but it’s not particularly engagin on an emotional level.

That’s what I was afraid of — all style and no substance. But you can bet he’ll be in every frickin magazine during the film’s release, staring at us contemptuously with his little white shirt and black jacket.

Vevo.com sending to Hell MTV [Media War]

December 9, 2009

Singer Rihanna attends the launch of VEVO, the world’s premiere destination for premium music video and entertainment at Skylight Studio on December 8, 2009 in New York City.

An advertising blitz by Vivendi’s Universal Music Group and Sony Music Entertainement, two music giants alon with Abu Dhabi Media Co. hoping that their new website, Vevo.com, will finally send to hell any idea that MTV is a place for top flight videos. The idea is to create an MTV for the digital age, a music site where all the latest and archived videos can be found.

As music companies are loosing revenues and profits at a rapid tick due to the combined impact of falling sales CDs, online piracy and the lack of creativity.Recording companies are experimenting with new ways of distributing their music online through ventures such as VeVo.It will show videos for free, supported by ads. While Google Inc’s Youtube has been an important music discovery tool fro the record companies, it has failed to attract premium advertising dollars. But Vevo just landed the sort of blue-chip brands that have shied away from Youtube because of the high production avlue of the videos, and the top flight artists they feature.

Indeed, Vevo launched with the support of nearly 20 new advertising partnerships, including names like McDonald’s Corp, MasterCard Inc, AT& T Inc. and Nissan Motor Co.’s Infiniti brand of luxury cars. These advertisers will pay a near premium rate around of $20 to $45 for every 1,000-page views, Vevo Chief executive  Rio Caraeff said in the interview.

Over the next year , as current licensing deals expire , Vevo’s player will gradually replace online videos that are on artist Web sites and other online destination such as AOL.The Vevo Web site and player will also have links to allow viewers to buy songs from Amazon.com or Apple Inc.’s iTunes.Links to artist merchandise will point to Bravado, Universal’s online retailing company.
