Kerry and John Legend

New York Jets Safety Rhodes want you to know that he has a “gorgeously green” brand new site – the other one was just awful-, he released the “news” on his Twitter account : “gmorning twit fam! go and check out the new site! the launch was yesterday with the foundaton events! http://www.kerryrhodes.com! Vayner media nice”.

Normally, i’m not into blogging about website’s launches unless the reading experience is amazing, but being curious i browsed through his gallery and went aghast litterally when i saw this awesome picture of him and the man who could sing the alphabet and makes it sounds sexy. One picture worth more than thousands words…Besides, Rhodes’s Fondation main goal is to provide scholarships to certain talented young men and women for the continuation of their academic careers beyond high school.Check out the website for more informations.

Nice, with a classic light but impactful touch of LEGEND….Very thoughtful..not a show off version. I felt it John! This man could sing the alphabet and make it sound sexy, thanks for sharing your beautiful voice.Besides being The best version of our National Anthem ever, there’s another reason why  i published the segment : “The awesome black Peacoat” .I’m digging it so hard that I sent John a tweet asking him more informations about the designer.Unfortunately, John was on the plane on his way to the Bermuda Music Festival according to one of his tweets.Stay tuned

John Legend’s reponse ” For those who were asking about my pea coat last night, it was Gucci. Thanks Gucci!”

Op Ed : Magic has lost his luster with beef against Isiah

October 29, 2009

Magic-Johnson-Isiah-Thomas-thumb-400xauto-4785

As a rabid fan of 1980s NBA basketball, I was saddened to read last week that the friendship between Magic Johnson and Isiah Thomas has evaporated and that Johnson has devoted a portion of his latest book “When the Game was Ours,” written with Larry Bird, to trash Thomas.

Once he learned about the book, Thomas simply said he had no idea that Johnson felt that way. However, even though Thomas has taken the high road, it’s still being reported as him “feuding” with Johnson. I can’t help but feel that Thomas’ fate was sealed in 1987, when he made the comment that Larry Bird “is a very, very good basketball player. He’s an exceptional talent…” before adding, “but I have to agree with [Dennis] Rodman. If he were black, he’d be just another good guy”.

That was 1987, the era of Reagonomics. For a black athlete to call America’s racial double standard into question back then took a degree of courage. Prior to that statement, Thomas was viewed as a golden boy in the same way that Larry Bird, Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan were. After that statement, however, he was never seen in the same light again.
