Accenture Drops Tiger Woods From Advertising Campaigns, Signs Still Remain

As Tiger wood’s private life remaining a daily distraction topic on Tv talk shows and website,Accenture applied in less than one week the basic principles of public relations damage control.

First, as they wanted him to completely disappear, they litterally ordered all employees to tear down all the posters that say” We Know what it takes to be a good Tiger” and replaced by an anonymous skier on the company’s website homepage.

By Monday Afternoon, any visible Tiger Wood’s poster was removed by staff members in their New York office. The next day marketing and communication employees around the world were asked to “dump” any remaining Tiger-emblazoned poster.

Accenture’s spokesman said they didnt tell all of its 177 000 employees to dump their Tiger’s Tshirts, caps, and cheap souvenir away but the company’s intention is to ensure they are no longer using it internally or externally. That meant telling staff members in a e-mail message to review their pitchs and slides shows to ensure that they no longer include Tiger Wood.

On Sunday the company proclaimed that Mr Woods was no longer the right representative for its advertising and began scrubbing his name away even though, ironnically, Tiger Woods was selected wednesday as Athlete of the Decade by U.S sports editors.

“On the second night of the 25th Anniversary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Concert, which was taped in October at Madison Square Garden and aired yesterday on HBO, Annie Lennox joined Aretha Franklinonstage while wearing a t-shirt reading “HIV Positive.” Lennox, who reportedly wore the shirt as a way to raise awareness of HIV and AIDS, joined the Queen of Soul for a rendition of her 1967 hit ‘Chain of Fools.’

Lennox, who has never claimed to be HIV positive herself, says she was inspired to become an HIV/AIDS advocate after visiting South Africa in 2004 and hearing Nelson Mandela speak. She started the charity and website SING in 2004 and won the 2009 Woman of Peace Award for her work highlighting the impact of HIV and AIDS on women and children.”

2009 AFI Film Festival Premiere of Precious

Oh My ! All mom-and-pop and unemployed population are already on tears left alone without any idea of an another messy, juicy talk show they can switch on.The Oprah Winfrey Show is to end in September 2011 after more than two decades on air, the production company behind the programme has said.A spokesman for the star’s Harpo production company would not say why Winfrey had decided to quit, but said she would discuss it on Friday’s show.

Winfrey is expected to focus instead on the launch of her own TV channel.

She already runs a satellite radio station, Oprah Radio, with presenters including Dr Maya Angelou and sex therapist Dr Laura Berman.

“The sun will set on the Oprah show as its 25th season draws to a close on 9 September 2011,” Tim Bennett, president of Winfrey’s Harpo production company, wrote in a letter to affiliates.

The Oprah Winfrey Show, currently syndicated in 145 countries, has transformed the star into a cultural phenomenon.

The introduction of Oprah’s Book Club helped authors whose novels were selected become bestsellers overnight, and Winfrey’s support for US President Barack Obama was seen as crucial to his presidential election campaign.

Winfrey’s empire also includes a magazine, books and, from 2011, a cable TV network.

OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network is a joint venture between Winfrey and Discovery Communications and is set to replace the Discovery Health Channel in more than 70 million US homes.

The end of the programme will be a blow to distributor CBS, which earns a percentage of licensing fees – estimated to be worth hundreds of millions of dollars – from the more than 200 local ABC TV stations across the US that broadcast it.

Many stations also built their schedules around Winfrey’s show, using it to promote other programmes while also delivering a large audience to their local news programming.

CNN DROPS TO LAST PLACE AMONG CABLE NEWS NETWORKS: CNN, which invented the cable news network more than two decades ago, will hit a new competitive low with its prime-time programs in October, finishing fourth and last among the cable news networks with the audience that all the networks rely on for their advertising.Hence why  the cause-drawn mogul has become increasingly critical of CNN’s “tabloid” attitude and again says that he would like to see the channel, which he founded in 1980, increase its international news coverage. Or, at least, stop featuring so much “fluff.

The official monthly numbers will be finalized at 4 p.m. Monday and will include results from Friday. CNN executives conceded that will not change the competitive standing for the month. CNN will still be last in prime time.
